The Countryside Code has been around since the 1950s. Those of you who were around back then may remember chubby Thelwell ponies helping to promote the messages.
The revised Countryside Code gives advice for people using the countryside and for those who own and work on the land. Before you head out on your spring walks, we recommend you take a few minutes to read it.
It contains advice to keep you safe as well as offering guidance on your rights and tips on leaving no trace. The full Countryside Code is available on the Natural England website.
