Wanted - Your Favourite Highlights

A project has been launched to discover the “Top Ten” highlights along the Cleveland Way and Yorkshire Wolds Way National Trails.

A list of ten highlights will be developed and promoted for each route, showcasing both popular destinations and ‘hidden gems’ as recommended by local people and visitors.

The project aims to attract new visitors, benefit local businesses and help people explore the landscape in new and exciting ways.

Says Malcolm Hodgson, National Trails Officer for the North York Moors National Park Authority:

“The Cleveland Way and Yorkshire Wolds Way offer fantastic opportunities for people to get out and explore the iconic landscape of the North York Moors National Park and the Yorkshire Wolds. Both routes are already popular with walkers, but they also offer superb days out for people who might not normally choose to go walking. There’s lots to see and do along the trails, and the project hopes to highlight some of the best attractions on offer”.

The project is keen to hear about your own favourite highlights along the Cleveland Way and Yorkshire Wolds Way.

Do you have a favourite walk, with anactivity, experience, viewpoint, picnic spot, heritage site, pub, restaurant or other special highlight along the route of the Trails? If so, please share your suggestions with the project using Twitter (@ClevelandWayNT, @YorksWoldsWay); Facebook (www.facebook.com/ClevelandWay, www.facebook.com/yorkshirewoldsway) or via email at m.hodgson@northyorkmoors.org.uk
