Get involved and support the Trail

Managing the North Downs Way National Trail costs in the region of £100,000 every year, and the increasing pressure on our beautiful countryside means that in order to improve the Trail further, more investment is needed.  However, this sum does not always provide enough to deliver all the projects we'd like to.

You can get involved in a number of ways.

  1. Walk the Trail, and bring your friends and family along too, perhaps you should consider walking the whole length over a few weekends, rather than just your regular dog walk?  It's the easiest way to keep Trail use growing, and will let you discover the fantastic countryside on your doorstep. You can follow us on Twitter (@northdownsway) and talk about your trips too (#northdownsway).
  2. More productive still would be to volunteer with a local community or conservation group, or your local Parish or County Council.  You'll typically receive training, and often equipment and insurance coverage too. Search online at Do-it.org.uk for volunteering opportunities near you.
  3. Donations are always welcome, as it provides a simple way for Trail users from further afield to give back, perhaps if you don't live in the local area, and lend a helping hand to support the Trail's management and maintenance over the coming years.
