Flood bank Repairs on the Norfolk Coast Path - Update

1st April 2014

Work is progressing on the Blakeney to Cley floodbank. The dry weather is certainly helping. The Environment Agency have completed levelling the bank and we are now on site surfacing and installing safety fencing. We are still on course for reopening the bank to walkers for Good Friday 18th April.

This will be the final section of the National Trail to reopen following the storm surges just 4 months ago.

We appreciate the shared efforts of our partners in these projects, Environment Agency, Natural England, Norfolk County Council and National Trust.  Although some of the work is temporary until long-term decisions are made around the coastal defence systems, we are proud of what we have acheived together in such a short space of time.
