12th March 2014

Work is underway to stone flag a dry passage across the infamous Houx Hill 'super bog' on the Border Ridge north of Byrness. The bog has in the past even resulted in Mountain Rescue teams been called out to extract unfortunate walkers. Northumberland National Park Ranger Service, funded by Natural England are currently contructing a sustainable dry way across area, leaving walkers with dry feet and the bog to flourish undisturbed.
