Ridgeway Volunteer tasks this week

20th January 2014

All paths need regular maintenance and this Trail is no exception.  During the summer it is lovely to enjoy the views and wildlife either on the open expansive downs or in the cooler beech woods.  However the winter can bring new sights and experiences of the Trail and there's no better way to enjoy them than as part of a group helping with the Trail.

This week we have volunteer tasks all the way along the Trail - from near the western end at Avebury to Princes Risborough - towards the other end of the Trail.  This essential work helps to keep the ever threatening scrub and thicker vegetation from encroaching onto the Trail and forcing users to follow the same single line.

If you are interested in helping with this work, or other volunteering opportunities on the Trail, please give Darian a call on 01865 810211 or 01865 810224; email ntvolunteers@oxfordshire.gov.uk or follow this link to download an Information pack containing all you need to know about becoming a volunteer on the Ridgeway National Trail.
