I ran the Offa's Dyke Path as part of the "King Offa's Dyke Race" Ultra Marathon.Just under 100 of us started from Chepstow at 8pm on Friday 23rd September and we had 96 hours to complete the full path.We ran, hiked and walked through day and night with most of us only grabbing a few hours rest and/or sleep. 44 of us managed to complete the full path and arrived in Prestatyn tired, weary but very happy to be there. We may not have had much chance to enjoy the sights from the path but over the route we had some amazing exeperiences including crossing the Black Mountains during darkness and, as dawn broke, we were in amongst the clouds and then a very eerie section along the Clywidian Hills and being at Jubilee Tower on Moel Famau at 3am with just our headtorches lighting the way.I hope to come back another time and take a much more leisurely walk along the path to take in all of the sights properly.
