Starting in the pretty market town of Chipping Campden the walk takes you to the splendours of Regency Bath with its Roman baths. Much of the walk is atop the steep escarpment giving long vistas and housing abundant history. Dover’s Hill at the walk start was the site of the original English Olympic Games of 1612. Old Sodbury features one of many Iron Age hill forts- that’s 300 BC whereas Belas Knap Long Barrow dates to 3000 BC. Add  Civil War battlefields, Painswick’s Rococo gardens and Sudeley Castle and gardens for immense variety.

The limestone Landscape varies too with lush often steep valleys, copse topped hills, open meadows and sharp coombes and hollows marked by grazing sheep and drystone walls.
