Only 7 miles from Haworth and just a couple of minutes walk from a friendly pub, Elmet Farmhouse is well-placed for the Pennine Way with direct links at Stoodley Pike or Heptonstall via the Hebden Bridge Pennine Way Loop.

Surrounded by spectacular countryside, with fantastic walks from the door in every direction through bluebell woods, hay meadows and heather moors, Elmet Farmhouse is perched above the steep wooded valley of Hardcastle Crags with panoramic vistas of the iconic monument of Stoodley Pike and the ancient village of Heptonstall. A superb spot for a walking holiday or a short break on the Pennine Way, this is the landscape that inspired the Bronte sisters and local poet Ted Hughes, whose book Remains of Elmet features the view from Elmet Farmhouse on its cover.

Proud finalist in Welcome to Yorkshire's 2016 White Rose Awards, Elmet Farmhouse is beautifully decorated and has a wonderful atmosphere with its 18th century stone fireplace, stone mullion windows and window seats. Warm and cosy, it is attractively furnished with Ercol and Scandinavian Modern furniture, striking vintage textiles and and lovely wallpapers and lamps by local designer Hannah Nunn. There are three light airy bedrooms (one double and two twins), two bathrooms (one with bath, both with showers), plus a utlity room with a washing machine and plenty of space for coats and boots. Outside is a pretty cottage garden brimming with flowers with a bench and two outdoor dining areas overlooking wild flower meadows and the rolling Pennine hills.

The Robin Hood Inn in Pecket Well, just 5 minutes walk from Elmet Farmhouse, serves tasty home-cooked meals and award-winning Timothy Taylor's ale. The Hare and Hounds Country Inn, renowned for its pies and curries, is also within strolling distance. 

Walkers and cyclists are both very welcome. A pre-booked pick-up and drop-off service for Pennine Way hikers is available by prior arrangement. Secure bike storage and bike-washing facilities are available. Elmet Farmhouse has plenty of parking for 3-4 cars. It's also well served by public transport, with 3 buses an hour from Hebden Bridge railway station which stop at the top of the drive, and hourly buses to Haworth connecting to the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway. Hebden Bridge has direct connections to Leeds, York, Manchester and Preston.
