A warm welcome, rest and relaxation await you here at Bethany House! We can meet you at the junction of the Pennine Way with the A62 near Marsden for the ten minute drive to our home in Slaithwaite, or bus routes 84 and 184 also serve the village and stop at the junction. Our guests have the exclusive use of the top floor of our chalet bungalow, which consists of a large, bright bedroom and separate bathroom with roll-top bath and walk-in shower, which are connected by a small dining/sitting area equipped with tea and coffee making facilities, toaster and a fridge. A complementary continental breakfast is included, consisting of fruit, homemade bread, and a range of quality teas, coffee and cereals, which is served in the upstairs dining area. Our property is in a very quiet cul-de-sac with lovely views of the surrounding fields and National Trust moorland, yet is just a few minutes’ stroll from the centre of this vibrant Pennine village. A public footpath runs beside the house giving easy access to a network of glorious walks, and our covered veranda provides secure storage for bikes or walking boots. Even though we are so conveniently located for the many shops, restaurants, bars and pubs in Slaithwaite, the peace and quiet here is usually only disturbed by the sound of sheep, cattle or birds.
Please note that the guest accommodation is accessed from the hallway by a fairly narrow wooden staircase, and is located in the converted eaves of the bungalow. This means that there is restricted head height, and tall guests might find that they have to keep to the centre of the rooms or stoop rather a lot!!
We have a small cat, Lola, whom guests may encounter during their visit; however, she is shy of strangers and will probably retreat to her favourite place of safety on top of the wardrobe in our bedroom!
