Enjoy the beautiful secluded South Downs valley views at Littleton Farm Campsite, a rural working farm site in the South Downs National Park. Positioned in a spacious valley that’s edged with woodland and home to Fallow Deer, Roe Deer, Hares and birds of prey such as Kites and Buzzards this wildlife haven is 100 metres from the South Downs Way hiking and cycle path, making it a well-placed base for discovering the chalk downlands and sloping valleys around the National Park.
Snacks and drinks area available at the on-site café at the farm’s entrance – it serves up barista coffee and a nice selection of cakes and pastries for a tasty breakfast or to top up your energy reserves throughout the day. And if you want to stock up for your bbq supper or picnic there’s a village shop a short bus ride away in both directions either at Heath End or Boxgrove – there is a bus stop right outside the farm entrance with the 99 South Downs Bus passing hourly in both directions towards Duncton, Petworth, Halnaker and Chichester.
The unlimited trails of the South Downs Way are right next to the site so you can head out for hikes and mountain bike rides straight from the site. Plus, the site is family-friendly so the kids can tag along on the nearby countryside trails too, there are no cars allowed in the campsite other than unloading making it a safe place for kids to play.
Facilities include eco porta-loos, hot showers and a washing-up area. You can end the day with a campfire and stargazing on the site (which is located in a designated Dark Skies Reserve), or head out instead to a local pub for a chilled drink, of which there are a number that are a hike or bike ride away for those that are more adventurous.
