Peaceful caravan park on a working farm 15 minutes from Denbigh
- Half a mile from the Offa's Dyke Path and on a mountain bike trail
- Farm produce available to buy; 5 minutes' walk to local pub
Plas Dolben is a peaceful caravan park on a working farm in the Clwydian Range Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The towns of Denbigh and Ruthin are both around a 15-minute drive away for shops and restaurants, and there’s a local pub less than 10 minutes’ walk away.
The folks at this scenic site (with gorgeous views over the Vale of Clwyd) keep sheep, cows, pigs and free-range chickens, and have a range of fresh produce for sale to guests. Eggs, sausages and other meat products are usually available, and there are new potatoes in season too.
This is a back to basics place, so there are no toilets, showers or electrical connections. A cold water tapis close to the pitches. There’s also plenty of space around the site to relax and play games or light up a barbecue.
Heading out, the site is a 20-minute walk from the Offa’s Dyke Path, and an hour or so from the top of Moel Famau. A four-mile heritage walking route passes through the farm taking in abandoned farmhouses, St Cynhafal's church and the farm’s own medieval holy well.
A Ride the Clwyds mountain bike trail runs through the site for cycle exploration, and a bus route passes just by the farm for those who’d like to travel by public transport. Snowdonia and the north Wales coast are within a 45-minute drive.
- This site has no on-site toilet and shower facilities.
- Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.
- Twin axle vehicles are not permitted on site.
- Please note that because of access restrictions the site is not suitable for very large or long caravans.
- As this is a working farm dogs must be kept on a lead at all times. There may be times when the stock is far away, and then dogs will be allowed to run free.
