The Yarn Market Hotel, Dunster, Exmoor National Park
The Yarn Market Hotel is ideally located in the centre of the medieval village of Dunster in the beautiful Exmoor National Park. There is a castle at the end of the street and the West Somerset Railway is close by. There are many events in the village and local area throughout the year, and the area is perfect for those who enjoy outdoor activities such as walking, cycling and wildlife watching, or just for a relaxing break.
The hotel has double, twin and family rooms, all of which are en-suite with television and tea and coffee trays. The Dunster rooms have king size beds, and are more spacious, and there are also four-poster rooms. Most rooms have either a view over the village or the surrounding countryside. Pets are most welcome at the hotel in the dog-friendly rooms.
The restaurant offers a wide variety of meals using local produce whenever possible, served by friendly staff. There is a good wine list and locally brewed beers and ciders available to accompany your meal.
For walkers there are excellent facilities, the hotel has a boot and drying room, and maps and guided walk information are readily available combined with local knowledge to enable you to make your stay more enjoyable. The long distance South West Coast Path starts just two miles from the hotel, and it is centrally placed for the Coleridge Way trail. The hotel also specialises in tailor-made packages for walking groups. For cyclists there is a storage area for bikes and advice available on routes. The hotel also has two electric bikes which can be hired out.
Activity breaks covering a wide range of subjects are on the schedule throughout the year, including choral weekends, craft and artist breaks and stargazing events. Please look at the website for details of what is offered.
The hotel is non-smoking throughout, and is a member of the Visit Britain Pets Welcome, Walkers Welcome and Cyclists Welcome schemes. It is open all year and offers Christmas and New Year packages.
