Watlington Hill boasts fine views over the Oxfordshire Plain and is known for its high-quality chalk grassland and butterflies. Its distinctive triangular white mark of chalk was carved into the hill in 1764 by a local squire, as a way to improve the view from his home.
The reserve is managed by the National Trust and parking is available in a small car park which can get busy at weekends.
