The whole Trail was an adventure as we have never done a multli day walk in Britain before. It was fun constantly changing countries from Wales to England and back again. Never knew if crossing a field would take us back across the border !We thoroughly enjoyed the walk and loved the variety of the scenery and terrain. Panoramic views from the hilltops were wonderful. The ancient history along the way was very evident not only with the dyke but also the dominance of the hill forts and ruined castles. It was very well signposted though we still managed to lose the path a couple of times. However, the OS map soon showed where we had gone wrong. We didn't let bad weather dampen our enthusiasm: we got thoroughly soaked on two days and for a couple of hours on some other days.Even the so-called "dull bit" ,a flat stretch in the middle of the walk, was delightful with lovely towpaths alongside canals. The high Pontcysyllte Aqueduct was a highlight. The peace of the whole walk was wonderful, so much better than the massive crowds of European cities. But the people we did meet were all so friendly as were the hosts of the B & Bs.We would urge others of reasonable fitness to consider walking this wonderful trail.
