We have just completed walking Offa's Dyke Path in 12 days. We had a wonderful time, and thoroughly enjoyed the walk.We chose to do the walk with Contours Walking Holidays, and opted for the 12-day schedule, with no stops.  We are reasonably fit, and decided that we could cope with the distance in this time period, although we had never walked this distance in one stretch before. We also were not intimidated by the thought of steep climbs. It was rather windy most of the time, with the edge of the gales in the north of the country hitting us whilst approaching, and on, the Clwydian Hills. The path was very dry, and we had absolutely no problems with boggy or wet conditions. So we did walk it in very easy conditions. We used The National Trail Guides to navigate the route, and always walk with an OS Explorer Map. We never like to rely just on signs, but we did find them to be pretty good, and very useful.  The condition of the trail was good, and as expected. The Black Mountains was good, but we did have dry conditions.  We did think some of the slopes would be rather more dangerous in very wet conditions €“ both for going up and down.  But one is out for a walk in the hills, and I certainly don't want steps everywhere!  Go prepared with a stick is my motto.  A wonderful holiday €“ in a glorious area. Glad it isn't too crowded with people.
