Primrose Cottage, BRIDGE KENT 40 High Street, Bridge, Kent CT4 5JZ, Tel: 07917654000
Primrose cottage is one of four cottages in what was once known as Primrose Alley. The first three cottages have now been converted into one dwelling where we live and we are pleased to offer Primrose Cottage as holiday accommodation for individuals and families looking to stay in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in this unique corner of The Garden of England. The cottage is believed to be built in the 15th Century and has a wealth of original and interesting features such as exposed beams, inglenook fire place and a small twisting staircase (with handrail).
You will have your own front door which takes you into the living room. The living room has a comfortable sofa, armchair, drinks cabinet, selection of local interest books, board games, sewing kit and a mini bar. The television provides UK channels and is logged in to Netflix. The Inglenook fireplace has a wood burner which you are very welcome to use.
Through the living room you will find a dining room. There is a full tea set should you want afternoon tea and an elegant dining service for a more formal meal. All with beautiful ambient lighting.
In the kitchen you will find a fridge freezer, coffee machine and cafetiere, kettle, toaster, microwave, dishwasher and washer/dryer. The kitchen is equipped for baking and cooking. We provide washing and dishwasher tablets, bin bags and other cleaning products for your stay. There is a first aid box under the sink and a fire blanket in the kitchen. The kitchen door leads out to a private patio which has a dining area and a charcoal BBQ.
From the living room is a narrow staircase to the first floor. On the landing upstairs there is access to the first bedroom, then to the bathroom, a dressing area and the master bedroom room.
The first bedroom has two single beds which can be put together to make a Super King bed. This room has space for a travel cot or extra blow up child bed, and we can provide both by prior arrangement. There is also a desk / bureau for your use, a chest of drawers and a small wardrobe. The curtains are black out curtains.
The bathroom has a bath with a shower over the bath, a toilet and a sink. We will provide basic toiletries for your stay as well as toilet paper.
The dressing area provides a large chest of drawers, a wardrobe, hair dryer and straighteners. There is also a fire extinguisher and smoke detector on this landing.
The master bedroom has a Super King bed, a bookcase, rocking chair and ample space for child beds / cots if needed.
There is parking on the High Street with no fees or charges outside the property and parking is free anywhere in the village.
If you have your own bikes you can secure them in the patio area. It is a fantastic area for cyclists and we frequently see a friendly peloton cruising through the village and surrounding areas. We even have a cyclist cafe called the Independent Pedaler in the village which is a great stop-off point.
If children are staying with you, please let us know what we can provide to make your stay easier. We have a Motorola video monitor, a white noise machine, safety plug covers, kitchen cupboard safety latches, child plate, bowl and cutlery.
We have two “Shrunks” blow up child beds and a Baby Bjorn travel cot you may borrow from us should you wish. We will also happily lend you a buggy if you give it back to us in a clean state.
We also have a fabulous nanny who would be happy to babysit by prior arrangement.

Badgells Wood CampingBadgells Wood, Whitehorse Road, Harvel, Meopham, Kent, DA13 0UF, Tel: 07528 609324
Our aim is to let you enjoy the woodland in its natural form with your own campfire and plenty of space. In order to do this we need to preserve and maintain the ancient woodland and natural landscape in which you find yourselves. Our camp takes up 30acres of Whitehorse Wood; itself 250 acres of ancient woodland which is also designated as a local wildlife site and sits within the Kent Downs Area of Oustanding Natural Beauty. You wont be suprised to hear there are bluebells, butterflies and badgers galore - we are currently working with the Kent Wildlife Trust on our conservation plan for the woods. Badgells Wood was also once part of a World War II Training Camp - towards end of the war, nearly every officer in the British Army passed through here as part of his training. The remains of concrete tracks and hut bases can be glimpsed between the trees, giving a taste of what was here before. And going back even further – there is also 1km of trench remaining from WWI which the kids love exploring.Pitches The site is over 30acres with concrete roads for access – so no getting stuck in the mud!. You can park just off the side of the road and camp next to your car or head off deeper into the woods for a more secluded spot under the shade of an oak tree (we can help you in there with our quad bike). We are forming pitches and tracks in the woodland so that most of the woods will remain naturally overgrown and you will feel like you are camping on your own in the woods rather than in a campsite.Off Grid FacilitiesWe run off-grid so it’s back to nature. We have gas powered showers, washing up area and event WC’s and will shortly have composting WC’s. It is basic and rustic but with everything you need! We also supply bio-degradable shower gel and washing-up liquid. We have to tank up fresh water so please use it sparingly. I am afraid its not suitable for drinking or preparing food, so please bring your own drinking water (or buy it in our shop).Fires and WoodThere is nothing like the simplicity of a campfire to generate lifelong memories. However they do need to be treated with respect and common sense and we ask that campers re-use existing fire pits. We need to leave the deadwood to maintain the woodland ecology, so foraging is not allowed, however we have seasoned logs and kindling from the surrounding Estate available to buy.DogsWe welcome dogs but we need you to keep them and their poo under control. If you come in with a dog we will give you some poo bags and ask that you clear up after them wherever possible. They should be on a lead when not in the immediate vicinity of your pitch.Noise & Amplified musicWe do not allow amplified music, although you are very welcome to bring instruments or join in with some campfire songs..! Our wardens will do a walk around at 10pm to check that no-one is disturbing their neighours.Rubbish We have waste and recycling facilities – please bring back everything you take into the woods to keep the woods for the wildlife.ShopWe have a small amount of essentials for sale on site such as drinking water, matches, firelighters and torches, tea, coffee & crisps..! As well as firewood and swedish candles.

Coldblow Farm is believed to have been named during Saxon times. It is situated 600 feet above sea level on top of the Kent Downs in the South East of England in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Although the farm is situated in the Heart of Kent we are still only an hour’s drive from London. The views from the farm and local footpaths and bridleways are stunning. The farm today has 32 acres including nine acres of ancient woodland, which is graded as Special Nature Conservation Value. The 157 long distance trail: The North Downs Way, runs along the southern boundary of the farm and the Pilgrims Way is just a short distance away. The farm is in a lovely area of countryside with an excellent network of footpaths. For horseriders there is good hacking on public bridlepaths, byways and Trot’s toll rides. Even the country lanes are relatively quiet! For carriage drivers the local roads are driveable with care although there are some steep hills so passengers may have to dismount! The animals on the farm are a horses and ponies. We also have free range chickens so your dogs must be kept on leads at all times. Coldblow Equestrian Centre is a riding school based on the farm.

At our family-run campsite we offer a natural and sustainable environment for traditional campers to share and enjoy. The meadows have pitches offering space for small or large tents and an allocated campfire spot. The Woodland area has camp sites in a more rugged atmosphere and offers a couple of paths to wander and direct access to the footpath network providing hours of walking on the Greensand Ridge. We try to preserve the woodland's fragile eco-system and natural atmosphere so have strict rules about collecting wood here. Our organic gardens and free range chickens provide fresh eggs and seasonal produce for sale in the small shop which also sells basics like milk, locally reared bacon and sometimes home made bread or something hot out of the oven on weekends. Hot coffee and tea also available.Showers and hot water is heated by a wood burning stove burning locally sourced wood.

Primrose Cottage, BRIDGE KENT40 High Street, Bridge, Kent CT4 5JZ, Tel: 07917654000
