The Bay Horse is an 18th century listed former Coaching Inn. We are situated in Ravenglass, the only coastal village in the UNESCO World Heritage site, Lake District National Park. We are right beside the estuary of the three rivers -the Esk, the Mite and the Irt. Ravenglass became an important naval base for the Romans in the 2nd century and in the 18th century it became the haunt of smugglers. Rumours say that there was once an underground tunnel connecting the Bay Horse to another former Inn across the road to move and hide contraband from the customs men.

We have lovingly and tastefully renovated our home retaining original features with modern facilities. We provide two double ensuite bedrooms and one bathroom with its own private bathroom. We have a guests lounge with local books and maps for our guests to use. We offer packed lunches and drying facilities.
