In the summer of 2015, Julie and I stood on the banks of the Severn at Sedbury Cliffs and commenced the most delightful trek north along the path of Offa’s Dyke. For much of the next three weeks, we walked along beside – and even on - the Dyke itself and marvelled at the 1250 year-old structure and the enormous effort it took to construct it. Our walk took us through some incredible scenery in the rugged hills of Wales with wonderful towns and pubs along the way. We will never forget the view from the top of Hatterrall Ridge or the fantastic night spent in the Longtown Pub with the local Folk Group playing and singing till the small hours.
We were actually disappointed when we reached Prestatyn and realised that the walk had come to an end. We have completed many long walks in Europe and the UK, but Offa’s Dyke Path was very special.
