Follow The Ridgeway through the estate to enjoy views of the historic house that has been the British Prime Minister's country residence since it was gifted to the nation after World War I when Lloyd George was Prime Minister.

Churchill produced some of his WWII radio speeches here and world leaders have been hosted too including George Bush and Vladimir Putin.

The house and grounds are not open to the public and subject to security measures under the Serious Organised Crime and Police Act 2005 in a similar way to other protected sites such as the Houses of Parliament in London. Public access is restricted to public rights of way, including The Ridgeway which crosses the main drive to the house.
