Located in the centre of the village Newbrough, 5 miles N/W of Hexham in Northumberland, this community run bunkhouse is in the Grade II listed former WI building. Sleeping 22 across 3 dorms, there are 2 quality shower/WC rooms and 2 more separate sink areas. A large communal dining/seating area is available to groups by arrangement. The small kitchen area has microwave, fridge, kettle, a 4 ring hob and a toaster (please note that there is no oven). All crockery and cutlery is provided. If you don't have your own provisions there is an honesty breakfast/ready meals bar at very reasonable prices, while the local pub is a couple of doors away and serves excellent food (except Sunday/Monday evenings). This hidden gem of a bunkhouse is very popular with walkers with footpaths leading directly to Hadrian's Wall, approx 3 km away. While for cyclists the Sandstone Way and Hadrian's Cycleway pass right by the front door. The Bunkhouse is also popular as accommodation for guests attending weddings taking place at Newbrough Town Hall which is next door.
