St Bees is a pretty coastal village full of character. It has been a popular holiday destination for over 150 years.
Nearby St Bees Head rises to a height of over 300 ft and has an RSPB bird reserve with one of the largest colonies of sea birds on the west coast of England, the only place in England where Black Guillemot breed. The sandstone cliffs looking across to the Isle of Man support an interesting array of flora and fauna.
The magnificent, mile-long, sandy beach at St Bees is one of the best on the whole Western Lake District coast. The wide promenade is the start of the Coast to Coast Path National Trail.
