Mounthooly is at the head of the stunningly beautiful College Valley in North Northumberland just below the Hen Hole and Cheviot itself and is on the Pennine Way and St Cuthberts Way walking routes. The bunkhouse welcomes 24 guests to this wonderful location.
Here you will find:
- 20 beds in main building in three rooms; two 9-bed and one 2-bed.
- Family annex room, 4 beds, shower en-suite, microwave and kettle.
- Clean bedding is provided (duvets, pillows and sheets included)
- Communal lounge and fully kitted kitchen with appliances and utensils/crockery
The lounge is furnished with comfy sofas and you will find a log burning stove for those cosy winter nights (logs supplied). The kitchen is fully equipped with fridge/freezer, cooker/hob, microwave and crockery/utensils. Self-catering only. Dogs welcome by prior arrangement.
The setting is perfect to explore the remote hills which you can discover all day often without meeting another soul. The night here in the valley is dark, the only light comes from the moon and the stars. College Valley is part of Europe's largest Dark Sky Park.
There is an abundance of wildlife—wild goats, deer, otter, peregrine, grouse, to name a few. If you are quiet, you may be lucky enough to see one of our most charming residents, the red squirrel. Throughout all seasons the valley offers wonders to be found, be it our local wildlife, archaeology, plant life, viewpoints, history, or the amazing effect nature has on the land, from waterfalls to sparking icicles.
This is the perfect wild get away from it all; once seen never forgotten.
