The Royal at Hayfield is an 18th century coaching inn set in the picturesque village of Hayfield, the gateway to the Peak District's majestic gritstone plateau of Kinder Scout, and located near the Pennine Way National Trail. This impressive Grade II-listed building with its oak-panelled bar and lounge areas and seasonal open fire provides an informal backdrop to a wonderfully relaxed eating and drinking experience. Open all day, seven days a week, there are traditional cask ales, fine wines, teas, coffees and home-cooked food.

A magnet for locals, walkers and visitors alike, there are five beautifully decorated guest bedrooms (all fully renovated in Spring 2014). All are en-suite and each has a flatscreen TV, tea & coffee-making facilities, alarm clock/radio, electric fan, and hairdryer. Iron & ironing board, cot, extra towels and bedding available on request. A drying room for residents' wet outdoor gear is now available too.
