RSPB Ynys-hir covers 700 hectares of wonderful diverse habitat from hills, woods and onto the saltmarsh at the edge of the river Dyfi. You may recognise it from BBC Springwatch which it played host to for three years. There is a visitor centre which provides hot drinks and light snacks, picnic area, toilets, friendly staff.
Take a break from the hills and explore stunning wildlife up close on our variety of paths, there are 7 hides from which you can enjoy the wildlife in pools and by the river with amazing views of the Dyfi Biosphere. Check out the website for events we may be running. Centre open 9am-5pm April-October, 10am-4pm October-March. Reserve open everyday from dawn till dusk. RSPB members free, non members adults £5 children £2.50.
Accessable from machynllth via Lloyds buses (X28 and the T2). Get off in the village of Eglwys-fach opposite the church and follow the brown tourist sign and RSPB signs down the quiet lane to the reserve. Or alternativley catch a taxi from Machynlleth.
