The remains of this iron age hill fort can be found on a high point close to the Ridgeway National Trail (less than 1 mile away). Liddington Castle was one of the earliest hill forts in Britain, with first occupation dating back to the seventh century BC. The fort is a wonderfully secluded and peaceful place to visit, and can be seen as part of the Liddington Castle Circular Walk - see http://www.nationaltrail.co.uk/ridgeway/route/liddington-castle-circular-walk.
