Situated on what used to be a Roman stone road ‘The Stanegate’ in the village of Fourstones near Hexham on the edge of the Northumberland National Park, this self-catering holiday cottage accommodation is in a great location for exploring UNESCO World Heritage Site Hadrian’s Wall Country and the surrounding area including Newcastle upon Tyne, Kielder Water & Forest, the North East coast and Beamish Museum. There are nice walks from the cottage around the village and river, and the Hadrian’s Cycleway passes the front door. The village store is a short walk from the cottage and a dog-friendly pub that serves food is under a mile away. The attractive market town of Hexham is four miles away with a wide range of shops and amenities, an Abbey, a race course and the Old Gaol, England’s first purpose-built prison, now a museum. The cottage sleeps up to 5 in 2 bedrooms and welcomes up to 2 small/medium well behaved dogs. Visit our website for information, pricing and availability.
