The pretty Dales villages of Austwick and Feizor sit either side of the Oxenber and Wharfe woodland. The woodland is designated as a Site Of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and in spring is a glorious tapestry of bluebells and other woodland flowers. The Pennine Bridleway skirts around the woodland and several footpaths meander through the woodlands. Information boards can be found at the entrances to the woodland. Refreshments can be found in both villages. The best time to visit is during May whilst the spring flowers are out in full force.
