Dales Countryside Museum shares the stories of the people and landscape of the Yorkshire Dales. Housed in a Victorian railway station, it's a striking blend of old and new. Free for children, it's a great place to discover more about the things you'll see as you walk through this amazing landscape. You can experience the wonder of being close to fascinating objects like our Bronze age spearhead and gold Viking ring! Children can have crafty fun all year round at the “Creation Station” in our railway carriages. There are lots of things to touch and do all round the Museum and you can enjoy a woodland wander along our outdoor sculpture trail. Roll-up your sleeves, try something new and have fun at our events! You can see traditional skills like drystone walling, knitting and rugmaking brought to life at our Demo Days. Children can get stuck into activities at holiday times. Events and changing exhibitions run throughout the year – watch out for seasonal treats and check out our full listing at www.dalescountrysidemuseum.org.uk Call 01969 666210 or email hawes@yorkshiredales.org.uk for details of prices and times. We showcase and sell the work of Yorkshire artists and makers in our Waiting Room gallery and shop where you can also get a coffee and a locally baked treat to keep you going! We are also a National Park Centre and have all the information you might need for your trip.
