Grim's Ditch is an ancient linear earthwork stretching through Aldbury Nowers woodland and onto Pitstone Hill. It is thought the Anglo-Saxons gave the feature its name and it derives from the Norse word Grimr meaning Devil and a nickname for Odin or Wodin the God of War and Magic.
