A stretch of The Ridgeway near Wallingford in Oxfordshire runs along an archaeological feature known as 'Grim's Ditch' between Nuffield and Mongewell.

This is an ancient linear earthwork thought to date back to the Iron Age, around 100BC. There is a bank and ditch which, in some places, is 3m deep.

In the spring, there are displays of bluebells in the wooded sections.

It is protected as a Scheduled Monument so all Trail visitors are asked to take care not to damage the feature and report problems.
