Pulpit Hill is found within the Grangelands Nature Reserve. The remains of an ancient fort dating back to the late Bronze Age and Iron Age can be found on the hill, with a single ditch and bank on the steeper western sides and a double system on the less easily defended east side. The Ridgeway National Trail runs directly through Grangelands Nature Reserve, and parking can be found at the National Trust car park on Pulpit Hill.
