The site is famous for the classic meanders of the River Cuckmere, which seem to feature in every school geography textbook. The park has much to offer in the way of widlife; there are some areas of saltmarsh and a brackish lagoon that always have some waders and other wetland birds visible. The valley sides are chalk grassland with the usual flowers and butterflies. There is excellent rockpooling to be had on the beach. As its name suggests, you can walk along to the iconic chalk cliffs of the Seven Sisters that run all the way towards Eastbourne. There is an information centre and a tea room as well as a bicycle hiring facility.

All the facilities at the Park Centre are wheelchair accessible and there are several accessible paths. Pay and display car park.
