Lindisfarne, also known as Holy Island, is a tidal island off the northeast coast of England. On this mystical island you'll find the spectacular Lindisfarne Castle and ancient Lindisfarne Priory.

Holy Island remains a place of pilgrimage today, and is the final destination of long distance walking route and one of Scotland’s Great Trails, the St Cuthbert’s Way.

The island is reached by a causeway and becomes inaccessible twice a day due to fast, incoming tides. Information on tide times is available for those walking and driving across the causeway. Please read the information and allow plenty of time before setting off to cross the causeway.

Safe crossing times can be found on the Visit Northumberland website.
