The marshy fen, extensive reedbeds and small woodland surrounding Weston Turville Reservoir create a hugely diverse ecosystem which is home to a huge variety of wetland plants (marsh orchids, lesser reedmace, purple-loosetrife and gipsywort to name a few) and birds. Bird watchers will find that there are interesting species here all year round: Water rails are found in the reserve throughout the year, starlings and swallows roost there in the autumn and winter wildfowl can be spotted in the winter. Marsh harriers and bitterns also visit occasionally.
Parking can be found at a lay-by on World's End Lane (which begins opposite the Marquis of Granby pub), 500m down the road on the right.
