The England Coast Path currently starts/ends at the Pier Head Mersey Ferry terminal. In due course it will continue around the Wirral to the Welsh border, using the ferry to link Liverpool and Seacombe. In the meantime walkers wishing to continue their journey around the Wirral can do so using the ferry and the Wirral Circular Trail - if neither the ferry or replacement bus are operating, use the train from Liverpool's James St station to Birkenhead's Hamilton Square station.
When open, the terminal also has a Beatles themed shop and cafe, and toilets.
