Dungeness to Littlestone

As you adventure on this striking walk along the King Charles III England Coast Path, you will come across many amazing points of interest along the route starting with the Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Railway, also known as ‘Kent’s Mainline in Miniature’, a 13 1/2 mile track powering the world-famous one-third full-size steam & diesel locomotives which travel from the Cinque Port town of Hythe, terminating in Dungeness.

Dungeness National Nature Reserve is home to bird species including bittern, little ringed plover and Slavonian grebe to name a few. It is home to 600 species of plant, a third of all plants found in the UK which you have the opportunity to discover. The nature reserve stretches across Dungeness to encompass the vast RSPB reserve and is intended to help protect the landscape and its wildlife. It’s a must-visit while you venture on this wonderful coastal walk.

Further along the route, why not visit Greatstone Beach, a wonderful sandy beach, frequently washed by the tide of the English Channel. Drawing holidaymakers from far and wide, Greatstone Beach provides safe sea bathing in the haven of Romney Bay, miles and miles of fine sand to build castles, play beach sports or just relax for a while! You will also have the opportunity to see a variety of birds on the beach when the tide is going out as this is a popular time to feed!
