Filey marks the end of the Yorkshire Wolds Way and Cleveland Way, providing the perfect place to relax after a nice walk with plenty for everyone to explore. This nice walk of just over 4 miles offers lots of great seaside views and a chance to enjoy Filey Brigg.
Filey is a traditional seaside resort offering a lovely experience for those finishing the Yorkshire Wolds Way and Cleveland Way. It is a place to relax, go for a paddle or sit on the beach and enjoy the view. Its long sandy beach and promenade offer a variety of family friendly activities – from exploring rock pools on Filey Brigg to a sculpture trail along the coast.
This walk starts out from John Street in the centre of Filey and it gives you a great chance to enjoy some of the outstanding beach, the cliff top including Filey Brigg itself and a stretch of the Cleveland Way National Trail (there is another 109 miles to go if you want to walk it to the other end at Helmsley!)
The walk heads inland to pass through Parish Wood, a nice community woodland managed by the Filey Bird Observatory and Group. It then heads back into Filey passing the beauty of St Oswald's Church on the way.
