For up to 3 months of the year at the landowner's discretion, you may find this section of the ECP closed to dogs, for your safety when cows and calves are present. This is a formal restriction under the CROW Act.
Please respect signage on the ground. Although there is no formal diversion, other public rights of way can be used, such as the link route shown above.
It may also be possible to use the foreshore, but please check tide times. For your own safety (because of crumbling cliffs, it is quite a long way between safe access points), it would be wise to avoid high tide completely, and please keep dogs on leads during the 2 hours either side of high tide, to prevent disturbance to roosting birds.
