Superb self catering accommodation is offered in a variety of sizes to suit any purpose of visit to Northumberland or length of stay in this beautiful part of the world.A working farm covering almost 400 acres, Burradon Farm comprises the farm house itself, the 14th century Pele Tower, terraced farm cottages and the farm barn conversations, four houses and eight cottages. What this means for guests is a choice of self catering properties to suit their requirements, whether for a family holiday a romantic getaway, or for the corporate traveller with business to conduct in Newcastle and who wants a convenient, well equipped self catering base in very pleasant surrounds. Choose from ground floor cottages for 4, a cosy one bedroom cottage for 2, an accessible cottage for disabled use, or a larger house to sleep from 5 to 8 persons.All the properties are very well presented and equipped with fully fitted kitchens, lounge areas with TV, DVD and stereo and super-fast WiFi internet connections. There is ample parking and the cottages have well tended garden areas with garden furniture and barbecue available for use. All towels and bedding are provided and all gas and electricity are included in any stay. One well behaved family dog is welcome in each cottage too and spare beds, cots and high chairs can be provided for families.

Lighthouse Keeper’s Cottage 2 is a cosy seafront house at end of the iconic red and white, Souter Lighthouse. It was built in 1871 to ward ships from the dangerous rocks at Whitburn Steel, and this two-bedroom cottage would have housed the former keeper and his family. This peaceful property boasts stunning sea views. From your base at Souter, head north to The Leas, a two and a half miles stretch of magnesian limestone cliffs, wave-cut foreshore and coastal grassland to explore. Further afield, why not explore one of our nearby properties? Washington Old Hall is a 12 mile drive, Gibside 23 miles, and Cragside 40 miles from the cottage.  

This white-washed cottage stands at the landward end of the Souter Lighthouse, built in 1871 to ward ships from the dangerous rocks at Whitburn Steel. The lighthouse keeper and his family would have lived in this sea-view cottage which, after a careful restoration, has been transformed into a comfortable two-bedroom holiday home. Enjoy a cup of tea in the garden and soak up the sweeping views. Stretching north from Souter Lighthouse is The Leas, a two and a half mile expanse of magnesian limestone cliffs, wave-cut foreshores and coastal grassland. Start a 2 mile walk from Souter Lighthouse and end at Rocket Green meadow; home to autumn gentian, bee orchid and dropwort. Further afield, explore the vibrant city of Newcastle, just a 15 mile drive from the cottage. With its shops, museums, galleries and award-winning restaurants, it’s well worth a visit. Garden: Separated from cottage by access road; fully enclosed by low walls and fences. *WiFi: This is now available, but please note that intermittent connection problems can sometimes occur and should not be relied upon. Dogs: Dogs are allowed on the nearby beach all year around.

Stowaway is a self contained, self catering, home from home cabin, set in a tranquil garden and over looking fields. Within walking distance of Runswick Bay beach and on a bus route to Whitby, Sandsend and Saltburn. Sleeps 2 adults and 1 well behaved dog (Labrador or smaller). A baby sleeping in a cot and not on the move is welcome. Cot / high chair provided on request. There are 2 pubs, a cafe and tearoom in the village. There are many walks locally including the Cleveland Way.

Staithes is located right on the Cleveland Way and the village provides an ideal base to explore the coastlinewalks both north and south. It is also an easy drive in to the North York Moors National Park where you can explore other sections of the Cleveland Way and Dalby Forest both on foot and by bike. Stay in Staithes is a local agency promoting a small range of holiday cottages range from cosy, get away from it all retreats for singles/couples through to larger houses suitable for larger families and groups of up to 8 people. All are located in the heart of the old village within a short walk of the harbour front and local pubs/shops, so multiple properties can be booked if you are looking to accommodate an extended group.  

The Moorings is a delightful holiday home located in Runswick Bay, a stunning coastal town, widely regarded as one of the prettiest spots on the Yorkshire coast. Sleeping up to four guests across two king bedrooms, one of which can be requested to be made up as two single beds. Quality comfortable accommodation, perfectly located along the Cleveland way.  A very well-equipped property with onsite parking and an enclosed garden. In walking distance of pubs and restaurants and the beach.

Parking is permitted for 1car on the cobbles with a resident pass. Very clean Kitchen and bathroom, downstairs toilet facilities and a very spacious open plan living room area and set to the side a dining area with south facing small patio to the rear of the house. This home offers all the usual comforts of a holiday cottage; eating and living areas, central heating, solid fuel and log burning stove, ( fuel and logs provided for first night), television and DVD. If requested, hairdryer, iron and ironing board will be available. Also old towels will be available to dry dogs down and also outside drinking bowls for your pet . It would be appreciated if dogs are not left inside the property by themselves and kept off the bed furniture.We are 30 minutes from the Cleveland Way and we have 2 watering holes to provide food and drink in 1 a very friendly traditional English pub open 12-11pm. Saturday night they hold live music unless you are there, as you will be made welcome,  you can expect noise till 11pm. Moraine is a cosy cottage ideal for walking and cycling along the coast or a base for a relaxing holiday in the fascinating village of Ravenscar, 'The town that never was!' This stone cottage accomodates upto 5 people in three bedrooms all with sea views.  It has a log burner stove (logs provided), a washer/ dryer and dishwasher, enclosed garden and private parking for 2 cars.Walking/cycling routes passing through the village include the Cleveland Way, England Coastal Path, Lyke Wake Walk and “The Cinder Track”.There are breath-taking views of the North York Moors, the Heritage Coast and Robin Hood's Bay from the walking and cycling trails centred on the village.It’s a short stroll to the local hotel with its Panorama Restaurant and public bar. There are also excellent village pubs and inns serving up great local produce in the local area.  Ravenscar is a perfect base for exploring the North York Moors and "Heartbeat" country, as well as coastal fishing villages and the resorts of Whitby and Scarborough with their shops and beaches. The secluded Stoupe Beck Sands are less than 3 miles away (dogs allowed all year).  Nearby local attractions include the Peak Alum Works (National Trust), Scarborough Castle, Whitby Abbey and the North Yorkshire Moors Steam Railway.

Grey Vine is a newly renovated 2 bedroom holiday home in the beautiful coastal village of Filey on the glorious North Yorkshire Coast. It is located on one of Filey's oldest streets with the sea visible from right outside the front door. It is in a quiet area yet close to all the amenities of Filey including the beach, cafes, restaurants, pubs, shops, bus stops and train station. Everything you could need on your door step! Grey Vine is well equipped for a comfortable break away by the coast. There is an open plan living, kitchen and dining area on the ground floor. There is a 55 inch smart TV mounted on the wall and a 3 seater sofa and armchair to sit back and relax on. For colder times there is a log effect gas fire for curling up cosy. There is superfast broadband with good signal throughout the property. Bi-fold doors open out onto an enclosed patio area with a table and chairs to enjoy the afternoon sun out there. The kitchen has a ranged of fitted appliances including fridge, freezer, gas hob, electric cooker, dishwasher, washing machine/tumble dryer and microwave. There are a range of utensils, pots and pans, slow cooker. Also on the ground floor is a cloakroom. A family run business with a small collection of holiday cottages located in the shadow of the historic Bempton Mill.  There are 5 cottages in total: Cliff and Heritage Cottages both sleep 5, Country and Coast cottage both sleep 4 and Old Mill House sleeps 8 - so together we can accommodate upt0 26 people. For smaller groups, Country, Coast and Heritage Cottage are on a shared courtyard so are often booked together as they can sleep upto 13 in 6 bedrooms. Old Toads Barn is a detached, former farm building lovingly converted by the owners who live on site. Superbly appointed and with comfortable furnishings throughout, it is a great touring base or a lovely holiday home from which to escape the hustle and bustle of modern life. Just a short drive north of the traditional seaside resort of Mablethorpe and less than half an hour’s drive from the Georgian market town of Louth with its boutique shops, pubs and restaurants. There are good walks and cycle routes in the area with only a 30-minute walk cross country to Saltfleetby-Theddlethorpe Dunes National Nature Reserve. There is so much for everyone to see and do throughout the area.

Badgers Willow has been built to mirror the owners’ barn conversion, Old Toads Barn, and has its own private hot tub. It is located in the picturesque county of Lincolnshire, in Theddlethorpe, just a 30-minute walk cross country to Saltfleetby-Theddlethorpe Dunes National Nature Reserve (Crook Bank), a 5-minute drive from seaside resort of Mablethorpe (or 45 minutes’ walk cross country) and a 20-minute drive from the beautiful town of Louth. Please note that mablethorpe is a traditional seaside town, and therefore, the amusements and some shops shut in the winter months. With Badgers Willow being in the country and yet so close to the seaside, as well as having a 6-person hot tub and so many wonderful walks, it’s ideal for families, couples or as a catch-up retreat with friends. With stunning country scenery and a beach just down the road, the location is beautiful all year round, changing with the seasons.
