King Charles the Third England Coast Path

Welcome to West Kirby

You are now on the King Charles the Third England Coast Path – a 2,700 mile National Trail around the whole country.

High Tide Route

The trail north and south of here may flood. High tide routes are waymarked from here to The King’s Gap and past Marine Lake.

Helping our wildlife

We share the beach with rare birds and wildlife who need to rest and feed undisturbed.
Humans and dogs can help by staying on the waymarked paths in the two hours either side of high tide.

Hilbre Island

Please see local notices for important safety information if you’re walking to the islands.

An illustrated happy golden retriever dog on a lead is shown with text above
I may only be playing, but the birds don’t know that – please help by keeping me close to you.

What can I do on the England Coast Path?

Walk or use off-road wheelchairs where terrain and infrastructure allow.

Dogs are welcome under effective control and preferably on a lead around wildlife. Please bag, take and bin their poo.

Watch birds and wildlife from a safe distance.

Follow instructions on signage.

Watch birds and wildlife – but keep your distance.
