Holidays with Your Horses in the Yorkshire Dales at “Rawlinshaw Cottage”
Right in the Heart of The Yorkshire Dales National Park, Rawlinshaw Farm provides accommodation for both you and your horse, with the amazing bridleway network near Austwick and Settle right on your doorstep.
Our self contained, self catering accommodation is adjoined to the farm house and provides private, home from home, facilities for our horse riders and their ponies.
Enjoy staying in comfort, knowing your horse is just a glance out of the window and the most amazing bridleway system is right next to your field.
The Farm:
We are now the 5th generation to live and farm here and currently we have a small flock of sheep, as well as our small, friendly livery yard.
Horses have been a part of Rawlinshaw since they first traditionally helped farm the land for our great grandparents. This evolved into recreation, as a Pony Trekking Centre for over 30yrs, using the amazing bridleways we are so lucky to have. Finally, we have diversified into the livery and the horse & rider accommodation you now can experience.
Rest assured, having lived with horses all our lives, we totally understand what is required to provide all you need for you and your horse.
Accommodation:
Our family were also one of the first to start B&B in the area and so we understand what little extra comforts may be needed after a day out in the saddle.
Our accommodation consists of one Double en-suite bedroom, shower room, fully fitted kitchen, lounge with large comfortable sofa bed and its own downstairs toilet, conservatory and private garden, all within a couple of strides of your horse.
As well as the great riding on your doorstep, your are a short stride from our local Pizza Restaurant “Rind” and the famous “Courtyard Dairy” right across the road – no need for the car!
Perfect to stock up on amazing local cheese and traditional wine to enjoy whilst watching the sun set after your amazing day out riding.
We are also very lucky that we have Elaine’s Cafe just 5-10mins walk up the road. Many of our riders stop off here on rides with their horses to sample a brew and cake or even an ice-cream. It even features on our route maps!
Riding:
Rawlinshaw Farm sits on a network of Bridleways that are second to non, including The Pennine Bridleway. We are also within riding distance of The Settle Loop
We have ridden these bridleways all our lives and can help you with routes, advice and guidance and may even be available to join you if you need some guidance – but the main thing is to just ….. ENJOY!

Visit the Lake District, only a short drive away and see the many Castles, Abbeys and Stately Homes of the area.Over thousands of years water erosion through the limestone has formed many amazing sights, such as Ingleborough Cave, which is festooned with stalactites and stalagmites, or Gaping Gill the most dramatic of North Yorkshire's pot holes where water hurtles down in a single jet over 365ft to the floor. An exotic collection of trees, bushes and plants, many of them brought from the East by Reginald Farrer, the botanist, can be seen by the lake at the top of the village and along the nature trail.
