Berrow Dunes Local nature Reserve is a Site of Special Scientific Interest and next to Bridgwater Bay, which is of international importance. Sand dunes are becoming increasingly rare across Europe and the reserve at Berrow is managed to maintain and enhance such an important habitat. Up to 14 species of dragonfly have been recorded here as well as many beetle species, moths, grasses, birds and small mammals.
